This stuff is fast and easy fun. Here's one using Sandbag's technique of making a circle by multiplying a lineart element.
I'm all about the blue these days. Same concept using shapes made with an eliptical marquee tool and a little of the often shunned bevel emboss / dropshadow combo. Whether I need to or not I usually work in many many layers.

This one was made from a photo of a cd i took
using the free transform tool in PS. There are some
cool procedural tricks you can rock with that tool that end
up doing some pretty fractally things, like this cosmic snail.
