Hey.. it's been awhile since I've posted anything... been crazy busy with work and to be honest haven't felt like doing much lately.. as all I want to do when I get home is stear clear of a computer.
soooo.
I've been working on a little home photo studio for myself.
Starting out pretty basic.. a couple work lights.. a flash with an umbrella. White photographic paper background.
Here's a couple pictures of the setup.
v. 2.0 - added borders. (thanks air Razz )

I'm playing around lots with lighting.. lots of learning to do in that area.
I've discovered that a light meter would be very helpful.

Here's a couple images that have come out of this setup so far.
(i don't have non-watermarked versions with me at the moment)

Cheers Very Happy

The results are awesome man. i'm jealous Mr. Green !
Are you going to shoot some of Scotty's sculpts?
I'm sure some of the colorists here would love to have a go at that kind of quality Wink

I'd love to see more of the work that comes out of this new workspace, so far it all seems very polished.

Melo- you're new icon is frightening.

Looks great man....just what is needed, and the results are very successful I would say. We'll have to give a go with different draperies and such next huh? Really test out the lights on different colours and stuff. The bright white really worked for ya. Very Happy

Melo- Your sig makes me afraid that your coming to GET ME! Shocked

Thanks air!

My brother n law has developed his own road bike brand. Currently there's 2 models.
He just got the first one's in.. and is bringing them over to be photographed for website/brochures.. etc.

Thought I'd practice on my bike.
Finding it hard to completely white out the background and not get overexposed reflections on the bike.
(I know the white background bit is getting boring.. but bare with me. I've got some potential jobs with this kind of stuff.. and the market on isolated object stock photography is big. I need that kind of stuff all the time. However.. I have ordered a couple muslim/canvas background drops.. for some colour too)

Here's the setup

Here's the best picture so far

Foz, if you are finding it hard to stop the bike overexposing what you need to do is move it further away from the background, give yourself at least a metre, better would be nearly two. That way you can throw a light onto the B/g and light the bike separately. Your results are looking good. Cheers
