Ya know...
(sniffing the fresh air strongly)
Its so nice and cozy here at the pod that Im just gonna link my site to this thread for all of my gallery updates. If something starts to swell, you can quench your thirst for more at
http://www.trentkaniuga.com. But uh... keep yer pants on... it aint that kind of entertainment.

This isnt an official capcom image... just something i did afterhours outside of the office. Im sure they are making another Megaman zero game, but I'm currently placed on a different project.

Are you not entertained?

The first ever Trent Kaniuga sketchbook is at the printers and available for order through my website: http://www.trentkaniuga.com. Heres a preview of the cover.

Just for fun, I redesigned the starcraft characters

My original rough for the US release of Ghost in the Shell. The artwork was finished by a different artist, but I still wish i couldve finished this one.

When i was considering painting the new Creed Book that Im working on...

A couple of self portraits.

so zen... and whatnot.

possibly the quickest doodle in my history of doodling. i think this was when i first got my wacom.

The orginal cover for CreeD: Appletree.

This was my first piece in painter... which i keep promising myself to delve into more often.

Thats all for now.
Chow.

Fantastic work, Trent.

•) The Terran Scout you remodelled is much more elegant than in the game- if I were going to project awarness through the character in some form of manifestation I'd certainly opt for your design to live in. Smile
•) The Creed painting with the snow is also wonderful, it conjurs the trippulence that snow is experienced as a child.
•) The quickest doodle, fantastic tree=ism. Certainly a piece I will study for inspiration.
•) I find myself peering into the Appletree pic much as dude is peering out, digging his Anima projecting on the magic swingset.
•) And the Painter piece, yeah man- epic hair.

There is such and subtlety in each image, a whole world of perceptions to explore.
Thanks for the post- this thread of podness has such a wealth of goodness.

Wonderful works! I'm very much digging your style. The snowy Creed piece is so peaceful in style and colour...just wow. I most definitely prefer your cover for GITS:I and have looked at the cover they ended up with many times at our local Futureshop....thinking exactly that. (it's early so I hope that made sense) Great works for sure! Applause

Niceness as always, my friend.

Making this thread your site gallery is an interesting idea.
I dig it as it will bring you deeper into the podular flow.
I'm going to go order one of those sweet looking Monocromagnum skecthbooks now. Very Happy

spectacular! My favorite is the style in the quickest doodle and painter peice, particularly the quick doodle. It's crazy how much is portrayed... how quick is quick?

Wow, i wasnt expecting such a warm response! Im really surprised at which pieces people are drawn to. Thank you for your encouragement.
Im not very active when it comes to posting... but im working on it. Heres another piece that I did this evening... It's... something that I started a long time ago, at least on the idea stage.

I've committed myself to painting the new creed book. it was a difficult decision because i know that it will be a lot of work, and will push back the release, and limit publisher options... but I think it will be the most solid creed story, with the most complete visual treatment I can offer. Something about some of the pieces Ive seen posted on the pod inspired me to give every page that extra effort... even if it takes another year.
Heres a 3 page preview.

All comments, and suggestions are appreciated. I really want to make the best presentation possible when it goes to print.

I like what I am seeing, T.
I love love love all the scratchy lines and baked in distress.
My only comment would be use to knockouts more sparingly.
For those who do not know, that is when the black of the ink is pushed to a lighter value.
Comics need black and when you go to print even the most subtle knockouts will show up
as much lighter than black. If you have lineart that fades to a value lighter than black the
transition has to be super smooth or it may stand out when it prints, look funky...

Example: In the last image the background tree on the right, lowest branch...
The knockout line is curved and does not follow or compliment the lineart.
Put it back in the oven. Wink

Also, the way things look on screen is always different as we are entranced by the glorious back-
lighting of the monitor. Can't wait to see more.

Hey, where is the sketchbook I ordered?!
